I just found out about this while doing the merging:

When a thread reaches 990 or so pages it is automatically locked and split. ._.

This means everytime we reach this amount of posts on thread it will be split and a new one will start...

Apparently it cannot be changed....

No, it won't be deleted, teh thread will just be locked, doesn't have to go. We can keep it there or on the locked threads...

For me yes, but I didn;t vote on the poll, well i didbut it was neutral, majority chose merge so...that is what we do I guess....

I dont think majority chose merge and split into 3

They chose merge, no one knew it would split. The threads are still merged, split or not its the same thing, already done and we just have to live with it. Doesn't matter that much.

hm, can we increase the limit to 9999 pages for example?

I don't know, it says there it is automatic to prevent spamful topics and that it is unchangeable when reaching around 990 replies, sometimes more, sometimes less.
