The latest chapter really pissed me off,

I didn't even get the point of the whole bathing thing, like seriously they are talking about some serious stuff there like the book of zeref but how am I supposed to take that serious when there are these huge ass panels of Lucy's and Erza's naked bodies. Like wow way to fcking ruin a manga.

It complited ruin the serious tone of the whole discussion. I don't get why he wants to use so much fanservice in his manga >.>
I know that FT has been tagged ecchi in some manga sites, but is it also tagged in Japan as well?

it's tagged ecchi because it has ecchi, it doesn't have ecchi because of the tagging. So it must be because Mashima is a pervert I guess

the ecchi part became more obvious because Mashima's drawing style got better. It's much more obvious now compared to the drawing style when Fairy Tail started for example

of course it will sell. If you overlook the naked flying Lucy and this chapter, the manga is very good. Even this chapter could've been good if it wasn't for countless boobs and ass panels and Erza standing naked in front of Natsu and Gray.
Erza and Natsu washing eachother's back was cute and shippy and would've been enough. We can figure out for ourselves that Lucy is naked in the onsen.

I just ignored the body parts to be honest and focused on the storyline, boobs and asses don't really bother me that much

and with Mashima and the manga change, his drawing is getting better than the beginning but its not also all up to Mashima, he has editors and publishers that approve the pages as well. So if they want him to put more boobies in it then he kinda has to, not saying that Mashima doesn't love the breasts because its apparent in places like his twitter that he does, but if they wanted him to tone it down then they could have more of an influence on what actually ends up on print.

I will now say something I haven't said in a long time...I liked this chapter lol it's a nice change from how the arc started out. Seems things will be getting serious from this point on.

If the bad guys have the balls to sent one man to gun down the whole Council, things will be interesting, very interesting. I hope there will be more about the connection between Silver and Ur in the future chapters.

I think the fact he took the counsel by surprise has a lot to do with the fact they all died the way they did. Any wizard will die if they have a gigantic stone building fall on them, especially if it's coming from nowhere, I'm just choked about Lahar, I liked him!!! And poor Doranbolt is alone now.. With Cobra, I wonder what he will decide to do.

Is it Tempestra or whatever her name is? Apparently they come from books but have human forms so I'm wondering if they are all former humans who are possessed by book demons and can switch looks at will (which would explain silver's appearance compared to the others) and Tempestra is Minerva while possessed or she is somebody else all together. Succumbus Eye was an affiliate guild of Tartaros and the magic counsel said they were all destroyed, so who knows where she ended up...

I love Elfman so much, he was my favorite part if the chapter, he will eat the special bread because real men don't give a shit

The fat round guy said Tempesta was away on a mission. There were only 7 members on that page, so all must be part of the 9 gates. Minerva will probably be along Kyouka's underlings.
And I have to disagree with Silver, the other female member of the 9 Gates looks better than Kyouka

Yep, Mashima's art sure is improving and as far as I know his style is one of the clearest out there.
If I wanted to read ecchi I would just pick a manga with it, as I don't have a problem with the genre if there is from the beginning. But with FT it wasn't like that from the start. Ecchi was added way later in the series and because of that you can't have the fans who don't like the genre to appreciate it now(mostly females as the fanservice is directed towards males).What I mind is not the ecchi as a genre but more that it was added as a genre in FT when previously was not there. Losing fans because of that is understandable.

I am not an analyst or anything but since I read some of the manga in this list and I know that they sell good in Japan, I think FT will be out of top 5 this year. I can see it on top 10 but other manga like Shingeki no Kyojin (with more than 20 million sales already), Kuroko no Basket , Magi, HxH, AssClass etc will take it's place.

About the latest chapter:

After quite some time, I am happy to say that I like this chapter. Killing the whole council in two pages? I am surprised Mashima (inb4 none died).
I wonder if Lahar is also dead...He might be heavily injured.
And I got to see Cobra again. Thanks Mashima.

from what I see the sales from 2012 first half are lower than 2013 first half. And they reached 4.1 mil in 2012. I reckon the sales will go up this half of year as well to remain in top 10.
